TRANSALORIAN ARMOUR V1

The Original 5 Cats, Immortalised

Version 1 of my Star Wars inspired armour set, made with hammered aluminium and plether straps, hand sewn and cut. This was my first "complete" set of armour, including belt and baldric, shoulder armour, arm guard, chest plate and elbow guards. the aluminium was spray-painted in acrylic.

TAROT

Unique Tarot Deck

This project stemmed from an inktober attempt in 2018, where I tried to draw a different tarot card a day, based off my own interpretation of each card and also influenced by the original Rider-Waite deck. I managed a handful of card sketches before I thought, what if I turned this into a project and made my own deck? Painting a full tarot deck of my own is a great way to analyse each individual card, and decide what it means to me. This particular card, the Ace of Cups, was done in watercolour, but I have plans to make the full deck stained glass.

LINOTHORAX

Historical Linen Armour

A linothorax is a piece of body armour from the annals of classical history. There are very few existing examples of this type of armour, since it is made of a very basic organic material and dates back to Alexander the Great! This fascinating piece of ancient engineering involves multiple layers of linen glued together to form a thick layer that can stop a blade or arrow, then tied into place around the wearer's body. This project was started through my interest in historical armour, combined with my fascination with the ingenuity and simplicity of this design.

FROGBOT

MSc Robotics Project

FrogBot is the name I gave to the 3D printed, friend-shaped robot I made for my MSc project. While this project was published and further research may be planned for the future, this little friend is mine now, and I have a lot of plans for him!

If you like what you see and perhaps have a project idea you want to collaborate on, please feel free to get in contact with details and I will endeavour to reply as soon as possible.

ST. RAY, PATRON SAINT OF SPYRO

The life of Saint Ray

This project began as a gift for my partner. It was the first piece I did that combined glass paint, gold leaf, and watercolour. I painted them using a painting of Santa Maria as a reference, depicting them as a saint, praying over Spyro the dragon (their favourite video game character). This project section now serves to collect all future works depicting the life of St. Ray.

Queer Bike

Electronically-assisted bicycle

I don't particularly like cars. Apart from the pollution, they are just big and scary to drive. My solution? Electronic bike! E-bikes can be cheap, efficient, powerful even when not pedalling, are not polluters and are very low profile compared to the likes of cars and even actual motorbikes! Oh and I guess road-legal as a moped, too.

GENERAL AMAYA ARMOUR

Hammered Aluminium Suit of Armour

I have always loved metal suits of armour. There's something exciting about full, historical style body armour that made me want to try my hand at making my own. One day, I saw the Netflix original show The Dragon Prince, and I loved the design of the armour that General Amaya wears so much that I thought this would be the armour I try my hand at making! This armour will be made from sheet aluminium, to increase flexibility and reduce weight, as well as faux leather and fabric where required.
